Description
Flatt Bridge is an early 19th-century road bridge spanning Calder Water. It features a single arch for vehicular traffic, accompanied by smaller supporting arches. The bridge is defined by a low parapet. Construction is of square and coursed stone, with bull-faced voussoirs forming the arch ring on one side and rough-faced stone on the other. Notable features include impost blocks and abutments that are both straight and curved to meet the banks of the water. The parapet is finished with ashlar coping. The road that crosses the bridge is the A726, connecting Strathaven and East Kilbride.
