78-80 Cadzow Street, Hamilton

82-84 Cadzow Street in Hamilton is a building dating from around 1840, designed in a late classical style. It is two storeys tall and constructed of painted ashlar stone, featuring broad raised margins. The ground floor has been modernised for shops, while the upper part has a six-window elevation with architraves that are lugged at the top and bottom, and raised in the centre of the lintel.

On the Church Street side, there is a two-window elevation with a recessed panelled quadrant angle, a main architrave, and a cornice, although the frieze has been removed. The roof is slated, and there is a corniced ashlar stack facing Church Street. The doorpiece at number 80 is architraved, and the glazing at numbers 78 and 80 has been altered, while the original glazing remains at numbers 82 and 84. The shopfront at 82-84 is late Victorian, featuring well-detailed cast iron columns. Additionally, there is a semi-circular rear stair turret with coursers and a piended dormer.
