Description

3 Old Glasgow Road in Uddingston is a two-storey, 11-bay row of houses built in 1925, featuring a near-symmetrical design with gable ends. To the left, there is a single-storey, 5-bay police station block. The exterior is harled, with a base course and a continuous cill course at the first floor that acts as a hood mould over a blank panel in the center. The gableheads display raised diamond motifs, and the openings have painted margins and raised cills.

On the principal (west) elevation, the terraced row is arranged in a pattern of 1-1-2-3-2-1-1 bays. The central bay has paired narrow windows at the ground level, flanked by segmental arched doorways with two-leaf timber panelled doors, including a part-glazed vestibule door. Above these doors, there is a bracketed segmental arched canopy that extends over the paired windows in the center. Each of the flanking bays contains two windows closely spaced at both floors. The right side features a slightly advanced gabled bay with a 3-light canted window at the ground level and paired windows above. The outer right bay has a replacement door, while the left side has a 3-light canted bay at the ground level and paired windows above, along with a replacement door and a narrow window. The police station section has bays arranged in a 2-2-1 pattern, with a replacement glazed door in the right bay, topped with a consoled canopy that supports a rectangular plaque reading "County Police 1925." The flanking bays contain windows arranged in pairs.

The south side elevation consists of two bays, each with a window at the ground level and a centrally placed window above on the first floor. The rear (east) elevation features regular window placement and a pitched addition to the rear of the police station block. There are replacement uPVC top-hung windows, a grey slate roof with black clay ridge tiles, slate on the rear addition, widely spaced harled coped ridge stacks, and cast-iron rainwater goods.

The interior was not seen in 1997.
