Description
38A Dalrymple Street, 38, Girvan is a two-storey building dating from around 1900, featuring a five-bay range of shops and residential premises. The structure is built of ashlar stone. The original shop fronts include curved windows positioned at angles to recessed doors in Nos 38, 38A, and 40, while No 34 has been altered. Above the shop fronts, there are original fascias and a continuous cornice. The first floor is symmetrical, with the outer and central bays featuring a block cornice. The central bay has a bipartite window, divided by shallow recessed canted bays that rise to a central pediment. The building has end and ridge stacks and is topped with a slate roof.
