Description
Sundrum Castle is a mansion primarily built in 1792 by the first Hamilton of Sundrum, which incorporates an earlier tower. The main range of the building has three storeys and features four widely spaced sash windows, with those on the first floor illuminating the principal rooms. The exterior has harled walls, a stone battlemented parapet, a dentilled course, and a ridge slate roof, along with round corner turrets and end stacks. Inside, there is notable late 18th century classical decoration. Adjacent to the main building is an office wing with three gables linked by a low screen wall. The central gable features a Palladian window, and there is a clock in the attic gable, along with a cupola and weathervane.
