Description
18 Cassillis Road in Maybole is an early 19th century pair of two-storey and attic houses, featuring five bays each. The houses are linked by a pend with a single bay above, constructed from pink sandstone ashlar. They have a plinth, a band course over the ground floor windows, a cill band for the first floor windows, an eaves course, and a cornice. Each house has a central door with a fanlight, flanked by four 12-pane sash windows, with five similar sash windows on the first floor. The pend has a basket arch with pilasters, and there is a Venetian window above with quatrefoil decoration in the spandrels. The roofs have straight skews with scrolled skewputts and feature two small dormers for each house, along with end and axial stacks, all covered by a slate roof.
