Description
The Bank of Scotland, located at 67 High Street in Maybole, is an earlier 19th-century building that features additional rainwater heads dated 1875. It has two storeys and an attic, with a five-bay facade, where the two bays on the northeast are more widely spaced. The exterior is finished in painted ashlar and includes a shallow plinth, a band course between the ground and first floors, an eaves course, a mutule cornice, and a blocking course. The three southwestern bays contain a central door set under a round arch, which is topped by a fanlight. The outer window of the northern bays was originally a door. There are five sash windows on the first floor and three piended dormers. The building features straight skews, later brick end stacks, and a slate roof.
