Description
The Aerogenerator on Fair Isle is a tapered square pylon made from triangulated galvanised steel. The pylon tapers at the corners to legs that are bolted to concrete pads. It features a rectangular galvanised steel casing for the generator, with a hub projecting from one end that supports three turbine blades, which are cable stayed at both the front and rear. Additionally, there are secondary turbine blades on each side of the casing.
