Description

The Haa of Bayhall is a three-storey, three-bay, symmetrical former laird's house from the mid-18th century, which was converted into three flats in 1978. It features a two-storey, three-bay wing to the southeast gable, known as Bayhall House. The building is constructed of harled rubble with ashlar margins, and the Haa of Bayhall is painted white. The listing excludes the pier, slipway, and outbuilding to the southwest as per the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) (Scotland) Act 1997.

Both buildings have grey slated roofs, raised skews, and gable chimney stacks. They also feature single-storey porches at the rear (northeast) and two window openings on the first floor of the northwest elevation.

The windows of the Haa of Bayhall are mainly 12-pane replacement timber sash and case windows, while Bayhall House has timber sash and case windows with various glazing patterns, including plate glass and 2-over-2-pane windows.

The interior was partially observed in 2016. The Haa of Bayhall has been refurbished for its conversion to flats and includes an internal stairway with one rounded wall to the northwest. The interior of Bayhall House features a significant amount of timber lining and a straight internal stair leading to the upper storey.

Rubble garden walls are present to the north.
