Description
South Setter House in Weisdale dates from around 1790 and is a single-storey and attic, three-bay symmetrical small laird's house. It has a single-storey outbuilding attached to the north gable and retains the footprint and corner of a previous rear extension. The walls are made of rubble with a boulder base course, and there is some harling present. A modern porch is located at the center of the ground floor, with windows in the flanking bays. The south gable has two bays, featuring windows at both the ground and first floors, with the windows in the right bay.
Originally, the house had timber windows throughout, but now only remnants of sash and case and fixed pane windows remain in the openings. The slate roof has been stripped, leaving felt, and there are harled two-flue gablehead stacks with concrete copes and circular cans on the north gable.
