Description
Voxter House, built in 1869, is a two-storey, three-bay former manse located in Brae. The building features a symmetrical design with a gabled porch at the southwest (principal) elevation, along with modern single-storey additions at the rear. The walls are harled with ashlar margins and have droved finishes at the edges.
The southwest elevation is symmetrical, showcasing a gabled porch that projects from the centre bay, which contains a vertically boarded timber door. Flanking bays have windows, and the first floor has regular fenestration. The southeast gable has a single window at ground level, offset to the right of centre.
On the northeast (rear) elevation, there is a modern addition at ground level. A tall round-arched stair window is located at the first floor centre, with a small square window adjacent to the left, and regular fenestration in the outer bays.
The windows are primarily nine-pane timber sash and case, with six-pane windows on the gable and border glazed windows in the stair and porch areas. The roofs are covered with purple-grey slate, featuring bracketed ashlar skew copes on the principal gables and porch, along with coped ashlar stacks.
Additionally, there is a walled garden enclosed by a random rubble wall, creating a rectangular garden space to the southwest.
