Description

Stanhope Farm is an 18th century farmhouse with a T-shaped layout. The crow-stepped wing that extends in front is a Victorian addition. The walls are harled and creamwashed, with the older section featuring deeply recessed windows, some of which have Gothic astragals. This farmhouse was the home of John Murray of Broughton, who served as Secretary to Prince Charles Edward.
