Description
Bowland Bridge, dated 1815 on the keystone, is a substantial road bridge featuring four segmental arches of varying widths. It is constructed from roughly squared whinstone rubble, with dressed voussoirs. The bridge has parapets topped with pink sandstone copes. The wide central arch is flanked by pilaster buttresses, and there are three later raking buttresses on the south side and one on the north side. A dentiled string course is present above the smaller arch at the far east.
