Rear Wing, Erskine Home Farm

Erskine Home Farm is a farmhouse dated 1849, possibly designed by William Burn, with later additions. It is a single storey building with an attic, constructed from stugged snecked rubble and featuring polished ashlar dressings. The east entrance elevation has three windows and a slightly projecting central gable that contains entrances, including a shouldered door with sidelights. Above, there are two later single storey canted bays with three lights, and gabled dormer head windows. The original first floor glazing remains intact, and there is one window in the gable. At the rear, there is a lower two storey wing with two windows and a square pyramid roofed block at the angle. The roof is slated with bracketed eaves, barge boards, and triple ashlar stacks. An addition was made to the south in 1972.
