Description

The Salutation Inn is a traditional, L-plan building dating to 1721. While the main structure dates to the 18th century, the western part, including the stair tower, may originate from the late 16th or early 17th century. The building is rendered and harled. A former doorway on High Street, now a window, features pilasters and an architrave cornice inscribed with the initials 'N.W./E.D.' and the date 1721. An extension adjoins the east arm of the building. A stair tower is situated within the re-entrant angle.
