Description
Lethendy House is an L-plan, three-storey tower constructed of rubble. The ground floor features a vaulted ceiling and has later buttresses, while the upper parts have been altered. Inside, there is a round arched doorway that includes a weathered Heron panel with the date 1678. The staircase has been repaired and incorporates two tomb slabs; one is gothic with a headless bas-relief figure, and the other is romanesque or earlier, depicting two figures in the lower half and a group of two figures above, which includes a harp, a horn, and a dog. The south front of the south wing has been refaced, and a large towered mansion was added by architect Andrew Heiton in 1884.
