Description
Alyth High Parish Church, built between 1837 and 1839 by Thomas Hamilton, features a Neo-Norman design with a Greek cross plan. The church includes a west tower topped with a stone spire and is constructed from red stugged ashlar, showcasing elaborate detailing. It has large four-light windows with wheel tracery located in the east, north, and south gables. The church underwent renovation in 1934. Inside the porch, there is a cross-slab, discovered in 1887 in the manse garden, made of gneiss and measuring 4 feet 6 inches by 1 foot 7 inches by 6 inches. This slab features a simple incised cross with whorls in the angles, along with a double disc and Z-rod on the back. Additionally, there is a funeral hatchment dedicated to Sir G. Ramsay of Bamff from 1790 to 1791.
