Description
Aberdalgie Parish Church, dated 1773, was originally designed in a T-plan layout. It features two large central round-arched windows, with doors flanked by circular windows above a tripartite lunette, and a Venetian window in each gable. The church was completely remodeled internally by Sir Robert Stodart Lorimer and Matthew in 1929. The interior includes a wood ceiling and an Ionic pilastered Forteviot loft, while retaining a Gothic pulpit and a memorial to Reverend John Sharp from 1887. A new southwest porch was added, and the southeast doorway was built up. The church also has a Gothic arched recess that contains a highly detailed relief slab, although it is much damaged, dedicated to Sir William Oliphant from 1329.
