4-6 South Street, Milnathort

2 South Street in Milnathort is an early 19th-century building consisting of a short two-storey terrace that includes two three-bay dwellings and a six-bay shop with accommodation above. The exterior features painted ashlar with droved quoin strips and painted margins, along with base, band, and eaves courses. There is a ground floor cornice on No 6, and the building has stop-chamfered arrises.

For Nos 2 and 4, the principal elevation is symmetrical, featuring a deep-set panelled timber door with a letterbox fanlight to the left of centre, flanked by windows on each floor (the left ground floor window is blocked). To the right, there is a modern door with a window beyond on each floor. The northeast corner elevation has a single window on each floor.

No 6 also has a symmetrical principal elevation, but all ground floor windows are blocked. The bays on the left have a two-leaf boarded timber door in the centre, with windows in the flanking bays on each floor and a hanging sign at the first floor. The bays on the right mirror this arrangement but feature a panelled two-leaf timber door and a large oval painted sign at the first floor centre. The first floor left window at No 6 has plate glass glazing in timber sash and case, while modern glazing is used elsewhere. The roof is covered with graded grey slates, and there are coped ashlar stacks with cans.
