W Storehouse/Bothy, Holland House, Papa Westray

The E Storehouse and Bothy at Holland House, located on Papa Westray, date from the late 18th to early 19th century, with the structure to the west possibly being slightly older. These are two single-storey buildings with lofts, arranged in a rectangular plan and situated to the northeast of Holland House. They are connected by a later shared flight of steps leading to a narrow passageway between them, and both feature crow-stepped gables. The walls are constructed of coursed rubble, with some remnants of harling.

On the southeast elevation of the E Storehouse and Bothy, there is a near-central entrance with a plank door, and another entrance with a plank door to the left. The ground floor has flanking windows, and there is a breaking-eaves dormer with a catslide roof on the outer left side of the loft. The northeast elevation has an entrance to the left of center, with steps adjoining to the left that connect to the west storehouse and bothy. The east elevation features a small rectangular projection containing steps to the right of the ground floor, with an entrance to the left leading to a small shed below the steps, which has a plain timber door. The base of the steps is on the right return, with a loft entrance to the left of the gable and a window to the right. The west elevation shows the shared steps to the loft, which project upwards to the left, with a loft entrance to the left of the gable and a boarded window to the right.

For the west storehouse and bothy, the southeast elevation has an entrance with a plank door to the right. The northeast elevation features an entrance to the left and a blocked window to the right. The west elevation has a boarded window to the left of the loft, while the east elevation has shared steps to the loft that project upwards to the right, with a loft entrance featuring a plank door at the gable.

The buildings have multipane fixed frames and top-hung casements on the south side of the east block, although these are blocked or boarded elsewhere. The roofs are made of stone slate, with gablehead stacks that have band courses on either side of the west block, a coped gablehead stack to the west of the east block, and round cans.

Inside, there are fireplaces at either end of the first floor in the west block, and one fireplace at the first floor on the west end of the east block.
