Description
Old House, also known as Clunas House, is an early to mid 18th century building featuring the remains of an east-facing house front. The structure is two storeys high and has five bays, with a central door framed by moulded architraves and an empty niche above. Flanking the main house are single-storey, three-bay wings that are roofed and currently in use. The walls are constructed of harl pointed rubble with ashlar dressings, and both wings have crowstepped gables. The building includes corniced end stacks set diagonally, paired narrow attic gable windows, and slate roofs. The southeast wing has been gutted and is now used as a garage or store. A late 19th century farmhouse has incorporated the northeast wing as a kitchen. The house is designed in an L-plan, with the rubble walls featuring tooled dressings. The single bay wings flank a gabled projecting porch in the re-entrant, and there is a canted bay window on the ground floor of the northeast gable, along with corniced end stacks and a slate roof.
