Description

12 Breadalbane Crescent in Wick is a group of townhouses built around 1860. This symmetrical block features 12 bays and consists of two stories with an attic, constructed from coursed Caithness stone slabs.

For No. 10, the principal elevation has a panelled door on the right with a letterbox, regular fenestration, and small gabled dormers. The side elevation has a blind gable end, while the rear elevation shows irregular fenestration and a forestair leading to a first-floor door, alongside a paved yard.

No. 11 has a timber panelled door with a letterbox and a fanlight above, regular fenestration, and small gabled dormers on the principal elevation. The side elevation also features a blind gable end, and the rear elevation has irregular fenestration, with a paved yard.

The cooperage is a single-storey, 10-bay gabled structure. Nos. 12 and 13 mirror the design of Nos. 10 and 11.

The boundary wall is low with a saddleback coping, terminating in stone piers with pyramidal caps, and is accompanied by decorative cast-iron railings.

The buildings predominantly have 12-pane sash and case windows, grey slate roofs with lead flashing, raised skews, and coped gable stacks. The interiors were not seen during the 2001 inspection.
