1 Lynedoch Place, Glasgow

2 Lynedoch Place in Glasgow is a terrace building constructed around 1869, designed to step down a slope. It has three storeys, a basement, and attics, with a two-bay elevation for each house. The exterior is finished in polished ashlar, mostly cleaned of dirt, and features channeling at the ground level.

Wide flights of steps lead down to tall tripartite doorways with sidelights. The building has full-height canted bay windows, with the first and second-floor windows framed by architraves and cornices on the first floor. The windows are sash style with plate-glass glazing. A continuous band-course runs at the cill level of the first floor, topped with a modillion cornice and a blocking course. The roof is slate, with axial stacks and some octagonal flues. Cast-iron railings are present along the steps and at the basement.

The first house, No 1, adjoins Lynedoch Street and has three bays to balance the composition with tripartite windows on the ground floor. No 12 features a Corinthian porch with a moulded entablature and a three-bay flank to the north. It also has full-height canted bay windows on the left and a full-height projecting square bay at the rear.

Inside, notable features include a Corinthian columned screen and impressive cornice plasterwork.
