Description
207 Bath Street in Glasgow is a three-storey commercial building designed by T L Watson in 1880, showcasing Free Renaissance architectural style. The ground floor has been altered and features four bays, with the second bay from the east projecting and the third bay advanced. The building is constructed of painted ashlar and includes sash and case windows with plate glass.
The projecting bay is corbelled out over the ground floor and is topped with a sculpted cornice. The first-floor bays are separated by antae that feature sculpted heads, and the windows are adorned with pierced cavetto parapets, cornices, and architraves. There is a cornice at the first floor level, while the second floor boasts a geometrically pierced parapet.
The windows on the second floor are stilted segmental arched and arcaded, supported by Corinthian colonettes and featuring an impost band. A deep bracketed machicolated cornice, a dentil band, and a cornice are present, along with a pediment above the projecting bay. The building is capped with a simple die parapet and has end stacks.
