25 Lansdowne Crescent, Glasgow

9 Lansdowne Crescent in Glasgow was built around 1852 and is a long terrace with a four-bay return elevation facing Great Western Road. Although referred to as a "crescent," it is a straight-sided terrace that surrounds a polygonal garden. The building has two storeys, attics, and a basement, with three-storey pavilions located at numbers 2, 10, 11, 15-22, 26, 27, and 28.

The exterior features polished ashlar stone, with the ground level channelled and the basement droved, while much of the surface is either painted or cleaned. Each house has three bays, with steps leading down to architraved, consoled, and corniced doorways that include fanlights. The first-floor windows are architraved sash windows, which may have plate glass or 6 or 9-pane glazing. There is a band course at the first-floor cills and eaves, along with an eaves cornice and a pierced roof balustrade.

The three-storey pavilions and the entrance at No. 386 Great Western Road feature steps that oversail the basement leading to doorways with ramped, lugged, and corniced main doors. The close doors are adorned with Roman-Doric pilastered doorpieces topped with a full entablature that includes triglyphs, metopes, and guttae, along with three-pane fanlights. All upper windows are architraved and have cornices and aprons at the first floor. The sash windows typically display a 4 or 8-pane glazing pattern. There is a band course above the ground level and at the eaves, complemented by an eaves cornice and blocking course. The buildings feature axial and end stacks and slate roofs, with cast-iron railings leading to the steps and basement.

Inside, the vestibule boasts a good plaster coffered ceiling, while the cornice and rose plaster ceilings add to the interior's elegance. The staircase is enhanced with cast-iron balusters.
