Description

Tradeston Paint Mills, located at 54 Cook Street in Glasgow, is a corner block originally built in 1854 as a fitting shop and later rebuilt as a paint mill in 1866, with additions made in 1907 by R Thomson. The building is three stories tall and features a ten-by-four bay design in ashlar stone. It has margined windows, and a band course above the first floor indicates the original roof line, with a second floor added in 1907. The front is made of stone, while the rear is constructed of brick. The interior has been mostly modernized.

The Cook Street section dates from the 1850s, with 1907 additions. It is a two-story structure with a ten-bay ashlar front and a crow-stepped gablet, which faces a cooperage, dining room, offices, and a vestibule lined with linoleum.
