14 Kingsborough Gardens, Glasgow

16 Kingsborough Gardens in Glasgow is a four-house terrace built around 1855, originally part of a larger, unexecuted development. The terrace has eight bays, with Nos 14 and 16 being slightly taller and set forward, serving as pavilions of the original design.

The building consists of three storeys, attics, and a basement, constructed from polished ashlar, although some margins have been painted or repaired. The entrances to Nos 10, 12, and 14 are located on the right, while No 16 has its entrance on the left. The steps leading to the entrance oversail the basement and feature an architraved doorpiece supported by brackets beneath a wide lintel. The doorpiece is recessed and includes a tripartite design with glazed side and fanlights, along with double leaf panelled storm doors. The vestibule doors are adorned with leaded coloured glass. Above the entrance, there is a single light architraved window with a panel frieze and a consoled cornice.

To the left of the entrance (or to the right at No 16), there is a two-storey canted bay window that rises from the basement and features a balustraded parapet at the first floor. All windows are architraved, although many have been poorly repaired or lost due to decay. The second floor has depressed arch windows with bracketed sills and margins, with three-light windows above the bay windows. The windows are sash style with plate glass glazing.

Architectural details include a moulded band course at the first floor sills and above the first floor, a string course at the eaves, a bracketed cornice, and a blocking course. The gabled dormers have round-headed windows and steeply pitched slate French roofs, with pronounced pavilion roofs on the advanced bays at Nos 14 and 16. The party walls feature skews, and there are axial corniced stacks, some with octagonal cans.

The rear elevation is constructed of coursed ashlar and features sash windows, primarily with four-pane glazing. Additionally, there are cast-iron railings leading to the steps and basement.
