16 Dowanside Road, Glasgow

26 Dowanside Road in Glasgow is a curved terrace of tenement buildings dating from around 1872. The terrace has a return elevation to Victoria Crescent Road and consists of three storeys plus a basement. The exterior is finished in polished ashlar, with the ground floor channelled and partly painted or cleaned.

Each house has two bays. On the right side, there are steps that extend over the basement leading to a tripartite doorpiece featuring glazed sidelights and double leaf panelled storm doors. The vestibule door includes a glazed fanlight. On the left side, which corresponds to the right side of No. 2 Victoria Crescent Road, there is a full-height canted window that rises from the basement, with a cornice above each floor and a panelled frieze at the first floor. The windows are sash style, primarily with plate glass glazing. There is a heavy band course at the cills of the first and second floors, and the building features an eaves cornice along with corniced axial stacks and a slate roof. Additionally, cast-iron railings are present at the steps and basement, although some are modern.
