Description
29 Broompark Drive is a two-storey terrace building from the later 19th century, notable for its distinctive detailing. The façade is symmetrical, featuring paired canted windows at the center and ends, while other ground floor windows are set in projecting square bays. The entrance is marked by paired arched doorcases. The building is constructed of polished ashlar, with some houses having been stone-cleaned and others painted. Each house has two bays with single openings in the entrance bays and tripartite windows in the other bays. Most of the plate glass sashes have been retained. Heavy cast-iron detailing, which has been removed from Nos 23, 25, and 29, adorns all ground floor openings, and the gates follow a similar style. Decorative elements include chevron and nail head ornamentation on the cornices, doorcases, and gatepiers. The chimney stacks are positioned near the eaves and at the ridge, and all roofs are slated. The property is bordered by low boundary walls that enclose small front gardens.
