66, 68, 70 Queen's Drive, Glasgow

42, 44, and 46 Queen's Drive is a crescent-shaped building that began construction in 1869. It features end blocks and is stepped to follow the slope of the land. The structure has three storeys and a basement, constructed of polished ashlar, with some areas stone-cleaned and channelled at the ground floor. Several bays are canted and rise to full height, each topped with steep individual roofs that may have originally been more decorative than they appear now. Upper floor windows have hoods supported by sculptured consoles at the first floor. The windows are fitted with plate glass sashes, and the eaves are stone-bracketted. The building has decorative chimney stacks and slate roofs. The basement area and steps are adorned with iron railings featuring an anthemion pattern, with the steps arranged in pairs or threes, resting on metal girders. The decorative detailing continues along the flank of the building facing Langside Road.
