193, 195 Kent Road, Glasgow

This building, located at 207 and 209 Kent Road in Glasgow, dates from around 1858 and is a classical, astylar tenement situated on a corner site. It stands four storeys high with a single bay that forms the gushet frontage. The Kent Road side features 25 bays arranged in a pattern of 6-6-6-7. The exterior is made of ashlar stone, with the ground floor channelled. The western five bays and the angle bay have been altered for a modern public house.

The three eastern blocks have paired pilastered doorpieces, while the western block has a single pilastered doorpiece. All windows are sash and case, set within architraves, and the outer bays of each of the four blocks are tripartite with stone mullions. There are cornices above the first and second floors, and the windows feature 6-pane glazing. The building has an eaves course, an urn at the eastern angle, and a pediment above the angle bay. The angle bay is bowed from the ground to the second floor and has tripartite windows on all four floors, although the ground floor windows have been altered. The return elevations on Argyle Street and Claremont Street repeat the arrangement found on Kent Road.
