Description
St Vincent Parish Church, built by Alexander Wall between 1864 and 1865, is a Gothic church located at 69 Kent Road in Glasgow. The church features a gable front facing the street, constructed from ashlar stone, which has been treated with a modern surface.
The design includes a wide buttressed central bay, with buttresses that rise to pinnacles. There are three pointed-headed doors, the central one being wider, each adorned with nook shafts and moulded archivolts. Below a tall six-light pointed arched window, which has hoodmoulding and intricate tracery, is a moulded string course. An angel is depicted in a circular frame at the gable head.
The outer bays are recessed and gabled, providing access to gallery stairs, and each features two-light margined and cusped-headed windows. All gables are topped with finials. The side elevations are plain. Additionally, there are cast-iron twisted railings connected by cusping under the top rail, along with decorative cast-iron gatepiers.
