Description

35 Winton Lane in Glasgow is a row of mews cottages built around 1892. The cottages are designed by architect John Morrison and feature single storey and attic structures made of stugged ashlar with broached margins. They have single light sash and case windows, which may have 4-pane or plate glass glazing. The vehicle entrances at ground level are fitted with timber folding-leaf doors. The cottages boast bold gables with gabled dormers, timber bracketed eaves, and ceramic cresting, along with corniced axial stacks.

No. 7 has corbels that support a projecting lintel over the door, and to the left, there is a corbelled projecting stack featuring a relief of a horse's head in a roundel. The gable wall includes a 5-light mullioned and transomed window.

No. 13 features two bipartite dormer windows.

No. 21 has its vehicle entrances blocked with windows inserted. The gable on the main elevation displays a hood-moulded depressed-arch window.

No. 35, designed by William Tennant in 1892, is a 2-storey L-plan cottage set back from the lane behind a high boundary wall. It features depressed-arch windows with roll-moulded lintels.
