1072, 1076, 1078, 1080 Argyle Street, Glasgow

This building, located at 1094, 1098, and 1100 Argyle Street in Glasgow, dates from around 1854 and is a four-storey tenement with modern shops on the ground floor. It features traces of original shop fronts and has 26 bays facing Argyle Street, along with four unequal return bays. The exterior is finished in polished ashlar, and it has sash and case windows, although some have been altered to casement style. The 10th and 17th bays from the east and the 1st bay from the south on the return are blind. The building has an eaves cornice and a parapet, with axial stacks that have been rebuilt.

On the elevation facing Argyle Street, there are three groups of bays: 3-17-3. The outer bays are advanced, and the 1st, 3rd, 21st, and 23rd bays feature tripartite windows with stone mullions, which are consoled and corniced with ramped lugged architraves at the first floor, repeated at the second floor without consoles. The central bays are corniced at the first floor, with lugged architraves at both the first and second floors, and recessed margins at the third floor. There are cill bands at the first, second, and third floors.

The elevation facing Kelvingrove Street includes a recessed pilastered close entry, with the 1st bay from the south being blind. It has a cill band at the first and second floors, with corniced windows and a wallhead stack. Some later dormers have been added.
