Description
271, 273, 275, and 277 Dumbarton Road in Glasgow is a four-storey tenement building designed by Campbell Douglas and A N Paterson, built between 1910 and 1912. This red sandstone structure showcases the Glasgow style and features shops on the ground floor. The façade is made of polished ashlar, with snecked rubble on the east gable and brick on the west gable. The building has 11 bays, with alternating shallow canted bays, and other windows set in recessed panels that extend through the first and second floors. A massive cornice is located at the second floor, and the main cornice is accentuated by large panelled and keyblocked chimney stacks that rise prominently, including a canted stack at the west corner.
