60 Kelvingrove Street, 58, Glasgow

54 and 56 Kelvingrove Street in Glasgow is a classical tenement building dating from around 1855. It stands three stories tall with a basement and some attics, featuring a total of 15 bays. The building is constructed of ashlar stone, which is channelled at the ground floor, while the rear elevation is made of snecked rubble.

The front of the building includes three square-piered Corinthian porticos with mutule cornices at Nos 56, 60, and 64 Kelvingrove Street, along with alternating recessed pilastered close entries. Each entrance is accessed by a flight of stone steps. All windows are sash and case, set within architraves, and there are tripartite stone mullioned windows to the left of each close entrance. The first-floor windows have their architraves dropped to a band course, with aprons and cornices. The basement windows mainly feature 12-pane glazing. The building has an eaves cornice, single-light dormers, axial and end stacks, and a slate roof. Cast-iron railings enclose the front area.

Inside, the ground floor rooms have coved ceilings, and the closes feature cast-iron balusters with wreathed handrails.
