8 Doune Gardens, Glasgow

3 Doune Gardens in Glasgow is a terrace of three-storey and basement houses, built around 1865. The houses are arranged in pairs and step down the slope, featuring two bays each, except for No 1, which has three bays. The exterior is made of ashlar stone, with a channelled finish at the ground level. Each house has a Corinthian pilastered doorpiece, and canted windows that rise from the basement to the first floor. Above the door, there is a single first-floor window framed in an architrave with decorated brackets supporting the cornice. The second floor has a bipartite window above the canted windows, with No 1 featuring two canted windows. The design includes an eavesband, cornice, and blocking course. The windows are sash and case style with plate glass glazing, and there are panelled storm doors. Some houses have etched glass inner doors, while No 5 has a stained glass inner door, and No 10 features Cottieresque side panels. The roof is covered with slate.
