Description

Crail Harbour has its origins in the medieval period and has undergone significant repairs and reconstructions at various times, especially after 1689 and around 1745 to 1760. The west pier was constructed between 1826 and 1828 by engineer Robert Stevenson, and the pierhead was rebuilt in 1871. The harbour is small and tidal, built primarily from rubble in vertical courses.
