Description

This milestone is located at the junction of the A91 and A92 roads, north-east of Dairsie village. It originally read 'To Pettycur 25/New Inn 12/Cupar 3/Newport 6' on a stone with a curved top. A later copper plate, affixed to the stone’s upper shoulders, reads 'Cupar 3/St Ands 6'. It belongs to the Pettycur and Newport Passage road series. The 'Cupar 3 St Ands 6' plate is a splayed, V-shaped plate mounted on a stone with a V-shaped front, a common design in the area.
