Description
80 South Row in Charlestown is a row of three single-storey, three-bay cottages built in the later 18th century, with No 80 featuring an attic. The cottages are constructed from rendered sandstone.
The north elevation is symmetrical with three bays for each cottage, featuring a central door flanked by windows. Porches have been added to Nos 80 and 82. The east elevation includes an attic window on the left, but the gable is not fully visible as of 2000. The south elevation has rear extensions, while the west elevation presents a plain gable wall.
Nos 81 and 84 have four-pane timber sash and case windows, while No 80 features bipartite two-pane windows. Other windows have been replaced. No 80 has a heightened pitched roof, while Nos 81 to 84 share a continuous roof, with No 84 having a piended roof. The roofs are covered with red clay pantiles and replacement tiles, with black glazed pantiles on No 84. Gable end stacks are present on Nos 80 and 84, along with three ridge stacks.
The interiors were not seen in 2000.
