Description
3 Cove Wynd is a late 18th-century, 2-storey, 2-bay house with a single-storey outhouse attached to the north, situated on a sloping site. The building is constructed of rubble sandstone, with the west and north elevations harled. The south gable of the house and the north gable of the outhouse have been rebuilt in brick, and there are stone margins around the openings of the house. The roof is pantiled, and the doors are boarded.
On the west (entrance) elevation, the doorway is offset to the right in the outer right bay, with a single window above it on the first floor. There are single windows on both floors in the left bay, and the doorway is flanked by single windows leading to the outhouse.
The north elevation features bull-stones on the gable of the house, while the south elevation displays a brick gable. The east (rear) elevation has a doorway on the outer left and a single window for the outhouse.
The interior was not seen in 1995 as it had been completely gutted, with even the floor removed. The building has modern 12-pane sash and case timber windows, a pantiled roof, a truncated gablehead stack to the north, a modern box dormer at the rear, and modern rainwater goods.
