Description
46 Double Row in Charlestown is a mid 18th century symmetrical row of six single-storey cottages, each with three bays, constructed from rendered sandstone.
The northern elevation features a symmetrical arrangement with three bays, including a central door flanked by windows. The eastern elevation has a plain gable, while the southern elevation includes contemporary piended rear extensions. The western elevation has a window to the right and a piended extension at the far right.
The cottages have replacement windows throughout and a continuous piended roof covered with red clay pantiles, which are glazed black on Nos. 46 and 48, while all but No. 47 have a slated easing course. There are gable end stacks and five ridge stacks. The interiors were not seen as of 2000.
