Description

Elie 42-44 High Street is an early 19th century building consisting of two two-storey blocks made of ashlar stone, each with three windows. The central section is recessed and features a one-window design with a semi-elliptical pond arch, which has in and out voussoirs. The building has quoin ends and roundel skew-ends. The shops are mostly original but were altered in mid-Victorian times at No 42. No 48 retains its original woodwork and fanlight.
