Description
Upper Kinneddar House is a multi-period gabled country house located in Saline. The rear gable features a lintel inscribed with "IO-1668" and a quatrefoil above it, while the front chimney is dated 1786. The house underwent later remodelling in the Jacobean style around 1840. It is asymmetrical, consisting of two storeys plus attics, with an entrance front that has three gables arranged in a stepped plan. The exterior showcases fine ashlar dressings, gable finials, skewputts, and grouped stacks. Most windows are adorned with rectangular drip moulds and 12-pane sashes. To the right, there is a gabled porch that includes a finial, a shield, and a pointed drip mould. Inside, the house retains good Georgian woodwork, plain marble chimneypieces, some plasterwork details, and a turning staircase with an ironwork handrail.
