Description

Multi-period gabled country-house; lintel in rear gable

inscribed IO-1668 with quatrefoil over; front chimney

dated 1786. Later remodelling in Jacobean style, circa 1840. Asymmetrical 2 storey plus attics. Entrance front with

three gables, stepped on plan, fine ashlar dressings with

gable finials, skewputts and grouped stacks. Rectangular

drip moulds and 12-pane sashes to most windows. Gabled

porch to right with finial, shield and pointed drip mould.

Interiors retain good Georgian woodwork, plain marble

chimneypieces, some plasterwork detail and turning

staircase with ironwork handrail.
