17-18 Pilmour Links, St Andrews

16 Pilmour Links in St Andrews is a short terrace of three symmetrical, two-storey, three-bay houses built around 1823, with later alterations. The buildings are constructed from droved, coursed, and squared rubble, with lined cement render on the first floor of No 18. They feature a deep base course, quoin strips, stone margins, and mullions at No 16, where the outer windows have been enlarged to bipartite openings, likely during alterations made in 1937-38.

On the south elevation, No 16 has a panelled timber door with a small-pane fanlight in the centre at ground level and a single window above, with bipartite windows in the flanking bays on each floor. No 17 also has a panelled timber door with a plate glass fanlight in the centre bay at ground level, along with windows in the flanking bays and regular fenestration on the first floor. Nos 18 and 18A appear to have been raised from a single-storey cottage to two-storey, accessed from the rear, featuring a top-opening window (which was a converted door) in the centre and additional windows in the flanking bays, with regular fenestration on the first floor.

The windows are primarily timber sash and case, with 4-pane and plate glass glazing patterns. No 16 has grey slate roofing, while Nos 17, 18, and 18A have pantiles. The buildings have coped squared rubble stacks and coped skews.

The boundary walls are low with saddleback coping and inset railings. The gardens to the north were reduced in size to accommodate the winter garden of Rusack's Hotel, which is listed separately.
