1 Drummochy Road, Lower Largo

This is a two-storey former granary, dating to the late 17th and 18th centuries, which was restored in 1972 and is now a residence. The building is constructed of boulder rubble with large sandstone lintels to the ground floor, and features low buttresses along its long sides. The south elevation has an arched doorway near the centre, embellished with deeply set buttresses and stugged ashlar dressings. It also has two windows to the left and three to the right. Above the doorway, and raised through the eaves, is a small window, and a larger modern studio window with a gabled head. The east gable has glazed doors. The north elevation exhibits an irregular pattern of six ground floor and four first floor windows. A pantiled roof includes a slate easing course, skews and two chimney stacks. A curved boulder rubble wall, likely dating to the 18th century, remains on the south side, forming part of what was once a west pier. It incorporates steps leading down to the water and a low bastion enclosing a circle of setts, marking the location of a former horsemill.
