Description

The Bowed Truss Railway Bridge in Inverkeithing was constructed between 1883 and 1890, designed by Sir John Fowler and Sir Benjamin Baker, with engineering by Louis Neville for Tancred, Arrol and Co, and built by contractors Joseph Philips. This bridge features a mild steel and masonry bowed N-truss design with a skew plan. It has ashlar coped snecked bull-faced masonry abutments, with each span measuring approximately 37 metres in length and the overall width of the bridge being about 10 metres.
