Description
Biel House Bridge, built around 1760, is a double span classical bridge constructed from large, droved sandstone blocks that are coursed and feature ashlar dressings. It has a prominent central water-break pier shaped like a keel, which includes a band course and a keystoned oculus that spans the entire width, along with a raised surround on the east side. The bridge is flanked by wide semi-circular keystoned arches. Below the parapet, there is a bracketted string course topped with ashlar coping. On the west parapet, a carved armorial panel is positioned above the oculus. Additionally, there is a keystoned round-arched entrance to a pedestrian arch located on the north bank.
