Description

The Corn Exchange on Court Street in Haddington was designed by architect Francis Farquarson in 1854. It features a tall single-storey pedimented ashlar front facing Court Street, with a two-storey flank on Peffer's Place. The façade includes two doors topped with triangular pediments and a central tripartite window. A sculptural detail of a sheaf of corn is present in the pediment. There is a wrought iron lamp bracket by the west door, and the building has a slated roof with open trusses visible inside.
