Description
The Knox Institute, designed by architect John Starforth in 1878, is a Gothic Revival building located at Know Place in Haddington. This symmetrical structure is built from rubble and features a slated roof. At the center, there is a four-stage tower topped with a pyramid roof, which is capped by a small louvred feature. On either side of the tower, there are twin gables that each contain two-light windows set within tall arched recesses. Additionally, the building includes twin spired ventilator features.
